Białystok University of Technology (BUT), in north-east Poland, is one of the few Polish universities with a section written specifically for Indian applicants. Most of its English master's programmes start in February and cost €2,800–3,400 a year.

What BUT accepts from India

Bachelor's: AISSCE (CBSE), ISC, a state Senior Secondary Certificate or a Certificate of Vocational Education, recognised through NAWA. Most applicants also take a maths entrance exam.
Master's: BA, BCom or BSc with second class and at least 50%; a three-year professional bachelor's also counts.
Insurance: health insurance for a full year, at least €30,000, from an insurer on the Polish ministry's list.

Our view

One of the cheapest routes to an engineering master's in Poland, and the February start suits students finishing a degree in India in summer. Białystok is small and cheap, with few English-speaking jobs, so budget without part-time income.

What are Białystok University of Technology fees for Indian students?

English master's programmes cost €2,800–3,400 a year, except Computer Science at €6,000. Bachelor's fees in the 2025/26 brochure were €2,800–3,000; the 2026/27 figures had not been published when we checked.

Can I join BUT in February?

Yes. Master's applications for February 2027 opened on 15 October 2026. Online registration closes on 1 December (15 December for Computer Science), and documents are due by 15 December 2026.

What marks do I need from an Indian bachelor's?

A BA, BCom or BSc, general or honours, with at least second class and 50%. A professional bachelor's counts if it lasted at least three years.

Does BUT accept a medium of instruction letter?

Its older India section said a certificate was preferable but not obligatory. Since the 2025 national rules, BUT asks for one of the listed English certificates at B2, so plan on taking a test.

What if my programme does not start?

If fewer than 12 students are admitted the programme does not open, and BUT refunds tuition in full.
