What Indian Students Pay at the University of Warsaw, and How Admission Works

Poland's largest university teaches 21 of its degree programmes in English, mostly in economics, international relations, data and the sciences. It is one of the better-known names for an Indian CV, and its English admissions close early: the first round for October 2026 ended on 23 February.

Admission for Indian applicants

  • Applications go through the online IRK system. Each programme has its own registration window and admission criteria.
  • Documents: Class 12 certificate and mark sheet (or degree certificate and transcript for a master's), apostilled by the MEA, with a sworn translation if not in English or Polish.
  • Eligibility: your certificate must entitle you to university study in India. The university may ask for a statement from NAWA, the Polish agency that checks foreign qualifications.
  • Master's: the university does not say whether three-year Indian degrees are accepted. Ask before applying.

The timing is the main challenge: English programmes recruit in winter, months before Indian board and university results are final. Apply with what you have and send the final documents later where the programme allows it.

English requirement

You need a B2 certificate from the list published by the Polish ministry, for example IELTS. For Global Management the university runs its own online test if you have no certificate. Students below B2 can take the university's foundation year, which costs ₹3.7 lakh (€3,500) and accepts IELTS 4.5.

Paying and housing

The application fee is PLN 85 per programme, or PLN 100 where there is an exam or interview. Your tuition schedule appears in your IRK account after admission. University dorms cost PLN 520–1,100 a month, but only enrolled students can apply, so book temporary housing for your first weeks in Warsaw.

Is it a good choice?

For economics, finance and data the University of Warsaw is among the strongest English options in Poland, at a price far below Western Europe. It suits a student with a clear profile who can apply early. If you need a February start or decide late in the year, look at Warsaw University of Technology or the private universities in Warsaw.
