Editorial Policy: Where Our Numbers Come From

A wrong fee or an outdated visa rule can cost an Indian family a lakh of rupees or a lost year. These are the rules we work by.

Order of trust

  1. The university's own fee regulation or price list for the academic year in question. Polish public universities publish these as rector's orders, often only in Polish; we read them in the original.
  2. The NAWA study finder (study.gov.pl), run by the Polish National Agency for Academic Exchange. Useful for the list of English programmes, but some entries are from earlier years, so we check fees against the university.
  3. Government pages on gov.pl: the Office for Foreigners (UDSC), the Embassy of Poland in New Delhi and the Consulate General in Mumbai, and legal acts in the Polish journal of laws.
  4. Indian sources for medicine: the National Medical Commission for the 2021 regulations and NBEMS for FMGE results by university.

Each page lists what it relies on, with the date we checked.

Currency

Polish universities quote fees in złoty (PLN) or euros. We show the rupee amount first and the original in brackets, converted at the European Central Bank reference rate of the date given in the footer of each figure. Banks and forex cards charge a margin on top, so add 2–3% to your budget.

What we leave out

If a figure exists only on an agent's website or in a search snippet, we do not publish it. If an official page cannot be opened, we say that a figure is not confirmed rather than guess.

Updates and corrections

Fee lists for the next academic year usually appear between spring and summer; we update the fee pages then. Visa and work rules are checked whenever the law changes. If you find a mistake, email [email protected] with the page address; we correct confirmed errors and change the date on the page.
