What things cost
Prices on Little India's online shop in October 2026: 5 kg of India Gate basmati PLN 17.50, about ₹420; a 160 g pack of Aachi biryani masala PLN 14; sambar powder PLN 12. Indian brands cost more than in India, so many students bring spices in their first suitcase and buy rice and staples in Poland.

Cooking in a dorm
Most dorms have shared kitchens on each floor with hobs and fridges; some have ovens. Bring a pressure cooker if you cook dal and rice daily, and a set of masala tins. Ask the dorm about rules on cooking smells and cleaning.
Eating out
Every big Polish city has Indian restaurants, and university canteens (stołówki) and milk bars (bar mleczny) serve cheap Polish meals, including vegetarian soups and pierogi with cheese or potato. Halal food is easiest to find at kebab shops and some Asian restaurants.
