The short answer
A six-year English-medium MD from a Polish medical university meets the NMC's conditions on duration and language. Two conditions need attention:
- The 12-month internship at the same institution. Ask the university how the clinical sixth year is certified.
- The licence in Poland. A Polish graduate becomes a licensed doctor after the LEK exam and a postgraduate internship of about 13 months. A foreign graduate follows the same route and must pass a Polish-language exam. Plan for that from the first year.
Avoid programmes where part of the course is taught in another country, such as split routes with years abroad. The NMC requires the whole course at one institution.

How many make it
The numbers are small: 44 Polish graduates took the FMGE between 2015 and December 2025, and half passed. Gdańsk alone accounts for 25 candidates and 14 passes. The sample is too small to promise anything about a single university. Full figures are on our FMGE pass rate page.

Before you pay
Ask the university in writing the five questions on our NMC rules page, and read the current NMC text yourself. The rules change; an agent's word is not enough.
