What the numbers mean

Russia trains thousands of Indian doctors at many universities of very different quality; its average hides big differences. Poland trains few, at twelve medical schools with EU-standard clinical training and entrance selection. For families who can afford it, Poland lowers the risk; for those who cannot, choose a Russian university by its own FMGE record, not the country's.

MBBS in Poland vs Russia: Frequently Asked Questions

Is MBBS in Poland better than Russia?

For training standards and EU recognition, Poland is stronger, and its graduates have done better in the FMGE. Russia is much cheaper and admits more students. The Polish sample is small, so judge individual universities, not just the country.

What is the FMGE pass rate for Russia?

18.07% in June 2025 (822 of 4,550) and 30.94% in December 2025 (2,128 of 6,878), according to the NBEMS performance report.

Do both countries meet NMC rules?

Both can, if the programme is at least 54 months in English with a 12-month internship at the same institution and you are eligible for a licence in that country. In Poland, the licence route includes a Polish-language exam.
