Study in Poland Without IELTS: Which Universities Agree

Study in Poland Without IELTS: Universities That Accept English-Medium Education

Some Polish universities accept proof that your previous studies were taught in English instead of an IELTS score, but the rules are narrower than agents suggest. Most accept a degree taught fully in English for a master's; far fewer accept a Class 12 English-medium letter for a bachelor's.

Where you still need a test

Lazarski asks for a B2 certificate (IELTS 5.5, TOEFL 72) or its own test. For the University of Warsaw, Białystok Tech and several others we found no official wording that accepts an MOI letter; plan for IELTS, TOEFL, PTE or a Cambridge exam unless the university confirms otherwise in writing. Some universities run their own online English test, which is cheaper than IELTS.

Should you skip IELTS?

Only if the university clearly accepts your document. An IELTS score also helps at the visa appointment, for scholarships such as Banach, which asks for B2, and if you later apply elsewhere in Europe.

Study in Poland without IELTS: Frequently Asked Questions

Can I study in Poland without IELTS after Class 12?

At some universities. SGH Warsaw lists a secondary-school certificate with English as the language of instruction among accepted documents, and Vistula waives the certificate for undergraduates whose school taught in English. Warsaw University of Technology does not accept a school MOI letter.

Does a BTech taught in English count for a Polish master's?

Often, yes. Warsaw Tech, Jagiellonian, Rzeszów Tech, SGH and Gdańsk Tech's management faculty accept a degree, supplement or certificate stating that the studies were in English.

Will the visa officer ask for IELTS?

The consulate checks your university admission. If the university admitted you on an English-medium document, carry it; be ready to answer questions in English at the visa appointment.
